Travel Expense Credit

With a Travel Expense Credit you have up to 90 days to redeem your ScotiaPoints against bookings for flights, hotels, car rental or cruises which you have made on your own. Simply supply us with confirmation of your paid bookings and we will redeem points on your account to cover that cost. Restrictions apply, so please read the Terms and Conditions below or give us a call.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. ScotiaPoints can be redeemed in exchange for a Travel Expense Credit.
2. ScotiaPoints must be redeemed in increments of 10,000 points. These will be converted at a rate of $0.015 USD for every 1 ScotiaPoint, so every 10,000 ScotiaPoints would result in a $150 USD Travel Expense Credit being applied to your Card Account in your local currency.
3. Redemptions must be made within 90 days of your confirmed paid booking (i.e. 90 days from the date the transaction was made to your Card Account).
4. Full or Partial redemptions are available provided you have at least the initial redemption requirement of 10,000 points. For example, if the cost of the travel purchase is $350 and you only have 30,000 ScotiaPoints, you can redeem 20,000 points for the equivalent of a $300 USD Travel Expense Credit.
5. To redeem for a Travel Expense Credit, call Scotiabank or the number at the back of your Card. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. (Atlantic Standard Time).
6. Travel Expense Credits will usually be posted to your Card Account within 7 to 10 business days after redemption.
7. In order to redeem for a Travel Expense Credit you must have paid at least the 'minimum due' on your Card Account. ScotiaPoints cannot be redeemed to pay the 'minimum due'. If the outstanding balance on your Card Account was the travel for which you are requesting full or partial redemption, you must still make the 'minimum due' on your Card Account and carry a positive balance to receive your Travel Expense Credit.
